The Brick Hotel

Boutique Hotel and Restaurant Adaptive Reuse

Constructed in 1888 as one of Oceanside, CA’s earliest landmarks, this historic building underwent a sensitive renovation that honors its storied past while introducing vibrant new uses. The project carefully preserved the original masonry shell, a testament to the area’s heritage, complete with period murals, signage, and century-old patina that reveal layers of local history.

Inside, the first floor was reimagined to accommodate a contemporary, trendy restaurant, activating the street and drawing the community into the revitalized space. Upper levels were transformed to host boutique hotel rooms, and a rooftop bar patio was added, offering guests unique views and an immersive connection to the historic fabric. The result is a dynamic mixed-use destination that thoughtfully blends Oceanside’s historical identity with modern hospitality and dining experiences.
